The keys
to success
We all want to be successful. But how? Well, here are six keys to success.
First, you should decide what success means to you. Think carefully about what
you want to achieve. Write down your goals. Don't list too many. Also, be
realistic. Only set goals you think you can achieve. Don't try to do the
impossible! Then divide them between short-term and long-term goals. Make sure
you know how to measure them. Look at your list of goals regularly to check
your progress!
Second, prepare a plan to achieve your goals. Having clear goals is not enough
- you must take action. Make a plan for each goal that shows you how to achieve
it. Every day, try to do something to help you reach your goals. It might be
tough at times, but keep trying to make progress.
Third, never stop learning. Think carefully about your goals and decide what
skills you need. If necessary, make sure you learn new skills. Also, learn from
your mistakes. If you aren't making progress, try to work out why. Ask yourself
what went wrong? Can you change your approach, or find a different route to
achieve your goal?
Fourth, you need to work hard. Hard work on its own isn't enough, but without
it, success will be impossible. Determination is very important, so never give
up. You need to spend as much of your time and energy as possible on achieving
your goals.
Fifth, be true to yourself. Don't do things you later feel bad about. Keep your
life values. Remember that achieving a goal dishonestly will not bring
happiness.
And finally, the sixth key to success - think positive! Always imagine you will
succeed. Never have negative thoughts. Never say 'I can't.' Always think 'Yes,
I can
